What RepoScout sends, where it goes, and what stays on your machine.
Where judgments go
Directly from your browser to TypeSafe's Jev API at https://api.typesafe.ai/v1/systemone, using the API key you supply. Nothing sits in between.
The repository data is read from GitHub's public API before any judgment, with a personal access token if you added one. That goes directly from your browser to api.github.com.
Only if you export your list to Notion, and only then: the saved repos you chose, with your own integration token. That goes directly from your browser to api.notion.com.
radrebeldeveloper operates no server for RepoScout and receives nothing: not the page text, not an identifier, not a count of how often you use it. What your provider does with what it receives is governed by its own terms.
What is sent
Automatically, when you open a public repository on github.com, and only from that page. You can switch automatic judging off in the popup, or switch RepoScout off entirely:
- The repository description, topics, language, licence, star, fork and issue counts, and when it was last pushed
- The README, capped at 6,000 characters, plus CONTRIBUTING.md, the pull-request template and the FUNDING file when they exist
- The titles, labels and first lines of the newest open issues, including good-first-issue and help-wanted ones, recent merged pull requests, and the top contributors
- The interests, technologies and use-case you chose in your profile, and any contribution conditions you wrote
What is never sent
- Anything you type into a form field, and any password or payment detail
- Cookies, session tokens or authentication state
- Your browsing history. RepoScout never reads the list of sites you have visited; it only reads the page in front of you
- Your name, email address or any account identifier
What is stored, on your machine only
- Your profile and your contribution criteria
- Your curated list, if you keep one: each repo with the verdict as it stood, your notes, tags and any revisit reminder
- A cache of judgments that expires after 7 days, and of repository data that expires after 6 hours
- Your settings, including your API key and, if you add them, your GitHub token and Notion token
All of it lives in chrome.storage.local on this device. Uninstalling the extension removes all of it.
What is not done
- Nothing is sold or transferred to third parties
- Nothing is used for advertising
- Nothing is used to train any model
- There is no analytics, no tracking pixel, and no crash reporter
Licence checks
When you activate a licence, the key you paste is sent to Gumroad to be verified, and the result is stored locally. That is the only other network request RepoScout makes. It is re-checked about once a month, and a licence keeps working for 90 days without a successful check, so an outage or a flight does not cost you what you paid for.
Children
RepoScout is not directed at children under 13. radrebeldeveloper collects no information from anyone.
